Greyhound girls place 2nd at Districts


The first day of districts for the girl’s golf team was held last Wednesday at the MeadowWood Golf Course. Coming in as league champions the Hounds were the ones to beat. Notable scorers were freshman Lauren Greeny and juniors Karly Bean and Elsie Lupkes. Greeny shot an 83 which was the second highest individual score of the day, Bean shot a 98 which was the fifth, and Lupkes shot a 101 which was the seventh. Freshman Grace Peschel shot a 125 and sophomore Safaa Turner-Rahman shot a 134. The top four golfers then moved on to the second day of districts which was held the following day at Liberty Lake Golf Course. Both Greeny and Bean shot a 94 which was the third highest individual score for day two. Lupkes shot a 106 which was eighth and Peschel shot a 122 which was 14th. With their continued success, the Hounds placed second at districts with a team score of 142. The Greyhounds are now looking forward to state. Greeny is 1st Team All-League as well as a state qualifier, getting second place overall at districts. Bean is also 1st Team All-League as well as a state qualifier, getting fourth place overall at districts. Lupkes is 2nd Team All-League as well as the first alternate state qualifier, getting eighth overall at districts. The Hounds are off to state which will be held at the MeadowWood Golf Course.
